It is my privilege to serve as the President and CEO of Christian Leadership Resources where we are working to "Enhance the Christian Expression in Today's YMCA." Prior to founding Christian Leadership Resources in 2019 I was privileged to serve as the National Director of the US Mission Network, working with hundreds of YMCA professionals to “preserve, nurture, and advance the Christian heritage and purpose of the YMCA across America”. Before joining the YMCA I served as a Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor or Senior Pastor for over 30 years in the states of Oregon and California.

I’ve been married to my college sweetheart, Chris, since 1976. We’ve raised three children, and currently are blessed to share our lives with them, their spouses and our 7 grandchildren.

Our whole family are huge Oregon Duck fans! Chris and I have had season tickets at Autzen Stadium for over 20 years! Football games in Eugene provide a great opportunity for us to share time with our kids and their families.

I’ve always been the “community guy”, so as a pastor I almost inevitably quickly rose to lead a pastor network and various collaborative efforts in the town where we lived and served. That bent gave me the opportunity to serve on the national staff of Promise Keepers for 5 years as an Event Director and later with the Luis Palau Association as the Executive Director of the School Partnership Network.

Raised in a Christian home, my writings here are a reflection of the my Christian upbringing, my experience in the pastoral ministry, and my interactions with literally thousands of people around the country I’ve gotten to know during my ministry in a local church and my travels with both Promise Keepers and the YMCA.

Through those varioius experiences I’ve definitely learned one thing – “None of us are immune from the “storms” of life!” Therefore, much of what I’ll write about in HEARTSTORM will deal with those circumstances, both big and small, that disrupt our relative peace and tranquility. I trust my reflections will help you along your journey.
