Larry Meadows
My name is Larry and I will be your host while you peruse this page. A little about me - let's see I am 6'1", I live in the Seattle area and I have wooden legs and real feet. Ok seriously. I moved to Seattle about 5 years ago for a new job. As fate would have it that company went belly up during the DOT BOMB era though I did have enough foresight to see the writing on the wall. Long story short - I now work for a software company in Redmond, Wash. I love the Pacific Northwest for all the challenges it brings - mountains, beer, hiking, beer, biking, beer camping, beer - you name it and it is here. I went through my first earthquake here in 2001 - a 6.8 that really shook things up. I have now weathered tornados, hurricanes, floods and an earthquake. The only thing left is a volcanic eruption and ironically enough I am surrounded by four volcanoes (Mt. Baker, Mt Adams, Mt Rainier, Mt. St. Helens) (unlike my friend Dave who is scared to leave flat land). Mancation to me is a time to get away and challenge myself. Whether on the golf course, a beer cooler, the water or hiking trails; Mancation offers the opportunity to see what I am made of or better yet - how much I can stand (and drink). Now I only need to convince Bill and Chris that hotels really are optional and we can make next year a true Adventure challenge! Be of good cheer!
