I'm Professor of Information Systems at California State University, Dominguez Hills, and have worked in both industry and academia. I've taught at the University of Lund, Sweden and the University of Southern California, worked for IBM and the System Development Corporation, and consulted to over 40 organizations. I've worked in many areas, including multi-processor operating systems, discrete event simulation, inductive AI, study of problem solving behavior by executives, computer and network applications in education, the history of computing and networking, expert systems, software import/export, enterprise networking strategy, wireless municipal networking, telecommunication policy, and IT literacy. I've studied the Internet, with emphasis on policy and technology in developing nations, for over 20 years. I've been active in ACM and the Internet Society, published over 200 articles and reports (54 in ACM publications), written two books, edited two book series, and been editor or contributing editor at several magazines, trade publications and journals. I've received awards for teaching excellence, and my MBA and PhD in information processing are from UCLA.
