Larry is the offspring of two actors that graduated and met at the renowned Pasadena Playhouse. Larry had an early start in the entertainment industry at the age of 6, appearing in U.S.O shows with the help of his parents. He has always lived by the philosophy do what you love and the money will follow.. Throughout his life long Career Larry has discovered the importance of humility and cherishing his audience. He continues to embrace those values and always makes time for his fans. Larry Read's talent transcends many genres. Fans often compare his music to iconic musicians like Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, Harry Chapin, James Taylor, Jim Croce, and Paul Simon. Larry's journey has been marked by several notable accomplishments. He has triumphed on prominent platforms such as The original Gong Show winning first place. Recent appearances on TV with his original music Include San Antonio Living. Additionally, In his past he has graced the stages of Las Vegas as a Headliner Or opening act, for renowned artists. He’s opened for the legendary Grateful Dead. These experiences have shaped Larry into the seasoned performer he is today, instilling in him a deep appreciation for the craft and all those who support it. Larry's musical pursuits have led him to record and distribute numerous original albums, each showcasing his passion for storytelling through music. Most recently, he released another new original album completely recorded in his own studio as a duo along side his best friend Bren Piranio entitled “Red Hot Ice, which further exemplifies his musical evolution and his unique sound. With each project, Larry strives to create a deeply personal and authentic experience for his audience.
His most recent acting appearance was a lead role as Maurice, Bell’s father in Beauty and the Beast. His stunning vocals stood out on stage leaving the audience wanting more.
