Lasisi Hooks began his career as an elementary school teacher specializing in teaching math, science, and social studies in 2000. After spending six years teaching, Lasisi began working as an assistant principal in the Macon County School System, and he now works as an elementary school principal at the Deborah Cannon Wolfe Elementary School.
Lasisi Hooks is in his first year as the principal of the Deborah Cannon Wolfe Elementary School in Shorter, Macon County, Alabama. The Macon County School District is based out of Tuskegee, Alabama. His elementary school has 150 students, and the school district has almost 3,000 students.
His goals for the D.C. Wolfe Elementary School are to build a positive atmosphere for learning in order for Mr. Hooks’ students to grow academically and socially. In addition, he also wants to meld technology and standard instruction to offer his students’ meaningful growth opportunities.
Lasisi Hooks created a vision for his school to help every child achieve their academic, technological, social, physical, and emotional potential. In addition, Lasisi is committed to making Deborah Cannon Wolfe Elementary School a place that provides a quality education for every single student in a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Lasisi Hooks is passionate about helping children and his community. He recently was appointed to the Community Development Team in order to help increase the number of businesses and housing developments in Shorter, a town of 355 people. Mr. Hooks will help coordinate local activities like an annual fall festival. Lasisi was encouraged to join the Community Development Team because one of his friends, also a member, encouraged him to participate. There are 7 other members who are also part of this group.
