I am a millennial Pro-Black writer, proud Black woman, journalist, blogger, wife, #TrueMother of eight, parent mentor, PTSD survivor and parental rights advocate with several years of writing experience. Having just achieved a longtime dream, I'm founder, president and executive director of the National African American Families First and Preservation Association (NAFPA). The first of its kind, NAFPA is a groundbreaking 501c4 nonprofit organization exclusively devoted to the protection and preservation of the African American/Black family through vigorous child welfare and criminal justice legislative and policy advocacy. In addition to being a macro social worker, I am also an outspoken longtime child welfare reform activist and abolitionist. I'm currently a volunteer staff writer and journalist for SWhelper.com although I still have managed to devote a significant portion of my time, effort and writings elsewhere especially and specifically to my new newsletter (please check it out all you have to do is click the button at the top of this page). Osteoarthritis and chronic pain are two of my best friends. They're conditions that I have suffered from since the age of twelve stemming from a near fatal car crash wherein several bones were injured and broken requiring eleven surgeries thus far. It is by the grace of God, and despite my physical disabilities and the many traumatic difficulties that I have had to endure, I have been able to continue to move forward. A lifelong learner, consummate overachiever and all around knew-it-all, I was the first person in my family to graduate from college (1stGen) and to attend graduate school. I am the founder of both the #BlackMothersForCPSAbolition #BlackMothersForChildWelfareReform social media movements. As a tireless and outspoken parental rights and child welfare activist and advocate, I have managed to become a top writer in Racism on Medium where I also host and write regularly on my advocacy blog called Tagi's World(https://medium.com/latagia-copeland-tyronces-tagi-s-world). Moreover, my work and child welfare experience has been featured in several publications (both online and print) including BlackMattersUs and Rise Magazine and Psychology Today. I am also interested in reading, politics, Black womanhood/mommyhood, hip hop culture and Black identity. I currently reside in Detroit Michigan. When not writing and advocating, I love relaxing with my husband Min. Laverne Tyronce Sr. and our son Laverne Jr.
