Latest Call to Prayer and Emergency Appeal for Ukraine.
Recent days have seen me interacting with a number of Ukrainian Christian leaders who have pleaded with the international Christian community to pray that a conflict with Russia would not break out. Meanwhile, they are openly leading their congregations and motivating people spiritually, despite the fact that their country is gripped by terror. These religious leaders and their congregations are meeting each evening in the centre of Kyiv, on St. Andrew's Hill, where, according to historical history, the Apostle Andrew originally introduced the gospel to this area. I am quite proud of them and their efforts. Ukrainian Christians are kneeling, fasting, and boldly calling on God with one voice to halt an impending Russian invasion at this place of worship in Kiev.
We at Mission Eurasia are praying as fervently as these Ukrainian Christians, as well as formulating strategies and organising resources in order to react to a broader crisis in the country. Despite the fact that our ministry is not halting, we are taking preemptive measures to safeguard our in-country workers as well as the ministry in Ukraine in the face of broad military intervention.
Key staff and their families are being evacuated from the Ministry Headquarters in Ukraine to our ministry hub in neighbouring Moldova, which is a much safer location from which our key leaders will continue to oversee our ministry throughout the entire Eurasian region, plans for which are currently being finalised.
Aside from that, preparations are being made to evacuate pastors and their families from the eastern Ukraine's Donetsk and Luhansk regions, who would undoubtedly be targeted by Russian military who may march into their areas at any moment.
