All my life I’ve been told a “Jack of all trades” is a bad thing. Now that I am back in school at UWGB, I am learning that it might be a good thing. Companies are looking for people who are educated and well rounded. I think this describes me when I think back to all my experiences in the job world. My first job was being a interior and exterior painter. After high school I went on to school at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in the Automotive Technology program, graduated in 2007 with honors. While attending college I also worked full time doing secretarial work. Filing, digitizing files, made sure customers were satisfied, ordered supplies, planned meeting, attended conferences, and fulfilled customer orders along with answering phones. Second part of my life moved to Madison Wisconsin got a job as a maintenance specialist at Dejope Gaming. While working there I gained experience doing plumbing, A/C electrical, dry walling, framing, painting, cabinetry, carpentry, landscaping, plowing snow, operated and certified on skid steer Bob Cat. While working there at night I was also a full time Automotive Technician during the day. I am ASE certified in DC electrical, engine performance, engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and heating and cooling. Out of all these valuable experiences the one that was most helpful to me was being involved and trained by the World Wide Dream Builders organization. They taught me about leadership, integrity, accountability, faith, positive mentality, positive attitude, team work, people skills, and personalities. In the current stage of my life I worked for Northeast Asphalt being a laborer. I also went through training with Initiative One program that taught me how to create a healthy safe work environment where people can be open and honest without fear of repercussion. Finally I am enrolled and currently attending school at University of Wisconsin Green Bay in pursuit of my bachelor’s degree in Applied Studies. My long term goal to achieve a doctorate degree.
