Hello, I'm Jordan and I am a certified laughter yoga leader, fully insured, first aid trained and DBS checked. I have a strong yoga practice and regularly practice many types of yoga. I heard about laughter yoga and never knew anything about it, so I give it a go and found so beneficial so I took it further and done a course to be able to lead classes.

Laughter Yoga is a unique concept which involved light stretching, yogic style breathing, and childlike play exercises to create genuine contagious laughter. The purpose of the class is to experience the many health benefits of laughter. It originated in India in 1995 by medical consultant Madan Kataria, and is now practiced by thousands worldwide.

Laughter engages the core and works our abdominal muscles, it is releases endorphins in our body and serotonin meaning laughter is a natural painkiller and antidepressant. Laughter Yoga is perfect therapy for those who suffer with anxiety. The list of health benefits that laughter involves goes on. We all know how good we feel after a good laugh.

Laughter Yoga is not traditional yoga. It is not physically demanding, and it has been proven scientifically that forced laughter has the same effects on our bodies as genuine laughter. The key moto is laughter yoga is we fake it until we make it! The childlike play exercises in laughter yoga contribute to real contagious laugher, very quickly in a class forced laughter becomes real and infectious and spreads across the group.

I adapt classes to suit the abilities of the group. Laughter yoga classes can even be done sitting down.
