Hi, my name is Maggie and I'm an educator.

I believe that every student is different. Children all have their individual way of learning and their own set of gifts and needs. No two days at a school are the same. Every student is unique, every day is unique.

As an educator, I wish for my students to have a positive learning experience in a safe, open and inclusive environment. I wish for them to be active learners, to question the status quo, and to evoke initiations.

I wish for my students to create knowledge and develop skills needed to embrace different cultures so that they can see the world with an open mind and appreciate what life brings. I wish for them to understand that success requires hard work, and that learning is a life-long process.

I wish for my students to remain curious and find personal growth both inside and outside the classroom. I wish for my students to keep taking risks, just like how they rode a bicycle, or tried a new kind of food for the first time.

Hence, it is my responsibility, as an educator, to provide the environment, tools and resources my students need to grow. It is also my responsibility, as a colleague, to share best practices and epic fail stories in my career with fellow educators, and to reflect constantly be a better teacher and to model to my students how learning is like.

Teaching is challenging and rewarding. It is with great joy and honour to be able to impact the lives of my students and help them grow physically, intellectually and socially.
