A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
In my opinion the weakest link in Science and Engineering is the small cooperation between both of them. This is why I am trying to become a very interdisciplinary professional with knowledge of both sides. This is why I started to study general Engineering Science at the Technische Universität München. In the first two years of this study program we gain a very wide base in basically every Engineering field. In the third year we can specialize in our field of interest. For me that is "Biomedical Engineering". In school I already started to do internships in "Molekular Biologie" and "Nanotechnology and Bioengineering" and now I am coming back to this interest of mine, by not taking the standard path, but through the link to Technology.
I continued this thought by studying Biomedical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. This way I can not only satisfy my inner need to be flexible and mobile and live in another country, but also follow my educational pathway to an even better understanding. Furthermore I specialise in Medical Devices and Diagnostics and will also write my Master Theses in this field of study.
The next step in my career path would be to get accepted in a Graduate program from a big, international Company with Biomedical Engineeringing connection. In a Trainee program like this I would have the perfect start to leave the specialised scientist behind and get my foot into General Management - my primary goal for now. And who knows if I will stop there. What is next? World domination?! :P
