Laura Griffith

Designer in Tucson, Arizona

My journey has stretched from haute couture to the haute route. My professional journey started in New York working for the designer Halston where I worked with the finest European fabrics and Italian tailors. While in New York I developed a strong foundation in design, fabric development, textile design and color management.

A deep connection to nature and the outdoors drew me west to San Francisco where I learned the best practices in brand and design management while working under the Target Corporation. I have led and inspired teams of 2-12 designers in the creation of over 13 brands and has experience in Women’s, Jr’s, Men’s, Children’s, Outerwear, Performance Sportswear, Yoga and accessories.

While working for some of the best brands in the business including First Ascent for Eddie Bauer, The North Face, Marmot and lucy I have been able to combine my passion for design, nature and an outdoor lifestyle.

I bring a unique perspective to the outdoor industry combining a keen sense of design & innovation with an immense curiosity and drive to solve problems.

I graduated with a B.F.A in Fashion Design from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, attended The Fashion Institute of Technology for Textile Science, and am an expert tailor. I acquired management training through the Target Corporation and am proficient in the tools of the trade including Illustrator, Photoshop and WebPDM; I founded and lead a San Francisco apparel networking group.

I bring first hand knowledge to my design philosophy based on weekends spent hiking, snow shoeing, ice climbing, cycling, kayaking and practicing yoga. Whenever time permits I am off partaking in adventures to far-flung places like Bhutan, Patagonia and Cuba.
