Yoga is something that personally to me, is great. I enjoy it because it is a great way to let your body detox itself, finding your inner personal happy place, and truly relaxing. There are many reasons as to why yoga is good for you. I will share with you some of my personal top reasons as to why.

One is Active Recovery, Yoga is an effective and low impact way to move on your non-lifting days without compromising recovery. When you work out in a gym to lift weights, or do hard cardio your body typically needs a recovery day. Many yoga experts will even go as far to say that hot yoga in particular can stimulate your metabolism and help release toxins from the body. Personally, hot yoga is my favorite. It causes you to sweat a lot, but you feel so much more refreshed and detoxed once finished. Either way, you will always feel better leaving yoga than when you came in.

Another is Kinesthetic Awareness, it is simply just awareness of your body. Yoga requires you to listen to your body, tapping into your trunk, your feet, your legs, hands, arms, pretty much every part of your body without having any type of visual aid.

The next is balance, it doesn't necessarily talk about stability. Although, it does help you make yourself more stable physically, it helps balance yourslef more than just the average gym goer. It helps balance you physically, mentally, and also deep into the soul.

Another reason is mobility and flexibility, improving your mobility and flexibility will increase your movement efficiency, which then in return is benefiting your lifts exponentially. Yoga is a fun way to get bendy and help your body try to become flexible at your own steady and easy pace.

A huge reason is breath control, yoga teaches you how to control your breathing greatly. How to open your lungs and diaphram at the right times, and when to exhale to close them to make your breathing more stable.

Another reason is bodyweight strength, it teaches you how important keeping and maintaing a helty bodyweight is when you have to hold and support your own.

My favorite reason is being in a non competitive enviornment, it is great because at most gyms you feel judged as you work out. When it comes to yoga, you work at your own pace.

With that being said, yoga is my favorite type of work out. There are many places and facilities that offer it as a great way to start a healthy lifestyle.
