Laura Metro
Consultant in Washington, DC
I specialize in developing social and traditional media strategy that fosters human connection between people and brands. My background in public relations, marketing, and life experience provides a unique perspective focused on creative and innovative cost effective marketing and public relations guidance to my clients.
Personally, I am passionate about water safety and CPR awareness. I advocate for these causes through public speaking, CPRParty™, being a founding member of Families United To Prevent Drowning and serving on the board of the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA).

My career is comprised of both corporate and entrepreneurial marketing/public relations experiences. After graduating from American University with an undergraduate degree in public communications, I spent a few years learning health and tech PR at Ketchum Communications with brands like Wyeth-Ayerst Pharmaceuticals. In my tenure at Ketchum, I participated in the launch of Cingular Wireless, Webvan the first online grocery company and ezgov.com, the first online government company. From there, I was recruited by one of Ketchum's successful senior executives to help start a boutique marketing/public relations firm, The Sage Agency. At Sage, I worked on the Marriott account supporting new openings for their select service family of brands.
For the past 11 years, after having children, I have stayed in the marketing field in a freelance capacity working with a few large corporate organizations, like Tim Hortons, as well as having started two entrepreneurial cause-related business ventures CPR Party (formerly The C.L.A.Y. Foundation and WINK Bags) working alongside the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA).https://www.linkedin.com/in/laurametro/
