I am currently finish up my senior year at Iowa State University majoring in journalism and a minor in political science. I am looking for an internship this summer in the intellectual property and technology fields. My 5 year career goal is to be an attorney specializing in intellectual property and/or civil litigation.

I am an quick learn, always seeking adventure, clever, witty, persistent, outgoing, honest and much more. I enjoy working on project testing my analytical, critical thinking and creative skills. I have many life mottos, but my favor is "Sometimes you have to act then think instead of thinking then acting. Otherwise you can miss out on something great." It is one of my favorites because I will try anything once and I have only one life to live so I live it with passion. I have many other interests, but with lack of space to write a book you will just have to contact me.

Here is a bit of background of my past experiences. For the past year and half I have be the PR Events Intern for the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics planning/promoting events and programs the Catt Center provides. I have been responsible for writing press releases and articles for the online newsletter; creating invites and ads using Adobe Suite CS5/6; and planning events which includes invite lists to food being served to color coding name tags to creating seating arrangements. Before beginning my internship at the Catt Center I was the Director of Sports Promotions for Cyclone Hockey. My responsibilities for working for a sports team wasn’t like it appeared on TV I worked my way up for Director of Merchandising where I was in charge of maintaining inventor, displaying all merchandising by bring out the tubes from the storage room until I became Director of Sports Promotions. As Director of Sports Promotions I wrote articles for recruitment, proof read press release, maintain the Cyclone Hockey Twitter and Facebook page. With both internships I was willing to do anything and everything because I wanted learn all the ins-and-outs to gain as much experience as possible even if the job wasn’t exactly what I wanted to do or is as “glamorous” as what is seen on TV.
