Laura Ashley Lord is a poet and writer. Graduated from Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, Maryland. Currently attending Southern New Hampshire University. She is the author of Wake Up a Woman, pubished in 2012. Lord has two children and is still in her hometown of Denton, Maryland.
Lord finds inspiration in being a modern woman in a rural community. She challenges common gender roles and stereotypes with fearless prose, intriguing narrative vignettes, and verses that strive headlong into the common battle of being a woman.
