Laura Dubreuil Vall
Technical Manager in Boston, Massachusetts
I received a MSc in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), a combination of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. During my undergraduate studies, I pursued several internships at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and the Institute of Photonic Sciences(ICFO). Following my passion for signal processing, I did my master thesis at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in collaboration with Northeastern University. After graduating, I worked as a researcher at the MIT Sea Grant department.
I also have experience as a Life Sciences consultant at Ernst & Young and as a support engineer in signal processing for Applied Ocean Systems, a start-up specialized in the development of high speed wireless subsea communication technologies for challenging environments.
In 2012 I joined the amazing Neuroscience department at Starlab as a research engineer. In 2014 I moved to Boston as the Technical Manager of the new US offices of Neuroelectrics, a Starlab’s spinoff focused on the development of new devices to monitor and stimulate the brain. In 2016 I started combining my work at Neuroelectrics with my PhD on EEG as a biomarker of tDCS neuromodulation of executive functions, as a collaboration between University of Barcelona and Massachusetts General Hospital.
In my spare time I enjoy traveling and practicing photography. Photography is an excuse to challenge me to find a new point of view to see the world. If you want to know more, check my 500px profile!
