Laura Higbee
Student, Dancer, and Writer in Syracuse, New York
My name is Laura Higbee and I currently am a student in the Bandier Program at Syracuse University studying music business. I am originally from West Chester, but apparently Westchester, NY is bigger than my hometown in PA, so now I just claim Philadelphia, because I'm right outside of it and love my city.
While I have always been very passionate about music, whether it be listening to it, playing some of my own or seeing it live, I have many other interests as well. I have danced since I was three years old and continue to at school in Syracuse University's dance company, Danceworks. I have always loved writing and am currently a Contributing Writer for New York State Music, a website keeping New York up-to-date on all new releases and shows in the state. I also have always been passionate about travel and love to explore new and foreign places in unique ways. I have used this love for travel and paired it with my love for service and volunteering and have been on multiple service trips to provide help to different places, such as working to rebuild homes in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and cleaning up beaches and helping local children learn English in Costa Rica.
I am focusing right now on being a student and learning as much as I can, whether it be in classes, internships, or positions in organizations within the university or outside of it. I am hard-working, enthusiastic, and passionate worker and am excited to enter the music business after graduation.
