Hello...

I'm Laura. I have been sitting on some of these stories for more then a decade. Sitting on something so long, things started to feel a little uncomfortable. There's also a limit to how many times a story can be edited...

So this blog, is me throwing the net open and putting them out there. (ah!)

The stories that you will find here are far from perfect but that's the thing, I always tend to have a stain on my t-shirt, a hole in a jumper and I'm forever misplacing things so that this being perfect thing - I just don't know if I'm ever going to get there.

And right now, these stories and poems are as good as I can do. And I hope, I really do, that if you find yourself reading them, you enjoy them.

I have written since I was a young girl and knew what a pen was - stories were what I spent my spare time on. Stories and writing. Words. Weird, wonderful, ever elusive words.

Horses too. Stories and horses. Then somewhere around the age of 13 I got a bit distracted and stories and horses got left behind. Now here I am, with numbers inverted, aged 31 with a young daughter under 2, who is wild and fearless about horses and shows signs of a young Dr. Doolittle unfolding, I find myself coming back to horses. (It's the wildness, the wildness). And now the writing too.

Who are these stories for? Well that's part of the net being thrown open, because I don't really know.

I do know that I write for the child in every adult & the adult in every child - and that sometimes I may have more the child in mind and others grown-ups.

I must warn you, I know that my grammar can be weak and I assure you that I am in constant endeavours to spruce up, prune and clarify my writing.

Ultimately I am starting this blog, having taken some time off teaching yoga to have my daughter and after a bit of oh christ, what relevance can I offer, this blog is about me relaxing about trying to get it right and instead of spending time worrying about looking a fool, going oh shucks, sometimes us fools, we just got to be foolish.

Love,

Laura x
