Laura Peña is a motion graphics artist and animator based in New York City. Founder of Jellomonsters, a creative design lab, and co-founder of the Leave Me a Note Project, a tribe of people spreading love and wisdom worldwide through notes.

Originally from the Dominican Republic, she moved to New York City in 2005 to continue her education at Parsons The New School for Design, where she focused on storytelling through Design and Technology.

With over 14 years of professional experience across the creative industry, she has worked for top brand names in the entertainment, health, financial, and technology industries, including: MTV, Rolling Stone magazine, Playboy, Marvel Comics, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Bayer, American Idol, MasterCard, Samsung, and LG.

Laura’s work has been recognized in magazines, newspapers, and books around the world, including Web Designer magazine in the UK, Arte y Diseño magazine in Spain, and in 2010 she was selected by the CURVY Design Book as one of the top 100 women designers in the world.

She likes to create things with her hands, collect everything and anything (cameras, money, rocks, you name it), photography, write, read, watch films, go to the beach, and go camping to wherever there might be a waterfall and large trees. She believes that the universe has all the answers and that we are made out of stars.

She believes you can create your own path, and she has spent this past year exploring what this means for her.
