Born and raised in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area, I found my way to Texas in 2009. I spent three and a half years studying European Studies and French at the University of Texas, and graduated in 2012. Upon graduation, I joined Teach for America as a 2013 corps member in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. While teaching, I earned my Master's of Science in Secondary Education from the Johns Hopkins University School of Education in 2015.

I currently teach seventh grade English in McAllen, TX. Each day I try to inspire a love of reading and writing in my students. I believe that every student likes reading, but not everyone has found the right book just yet. I teach with an understanding that students can and will raise up to high expectations when given the proper support and guidance.
