Laura Robles Perea
Doctor in Figueres, Espanya
My name is Laura.
I’m a geriatrician and emergency physicianwith specialized training in mountain medicine. I work both in hospital and prehospital emergency care, and I serve as a physician on a rescue team.
I am also a faculty member in Medicine at the University of Girona (UdG), where I combine clinical practice with teaching and academic activity.
Passionate about high-quality scientific communication, I’m actively involved in diferent projects focused on emergency medicine education:
The emergency medicine blog Urgem.cat
The working group on critical and emergent care for older adults #geriurg-SoCMUE, part of the Catalan Society of Emergency Medicine (SoCMUE)
Within #geriurg, we are currently developing and validating an innovative clinical tool called 3D/3D+, designed to assess frailty and acute multidimensional impairment in older patients presenting to the emergency department. This tool supports timely clinical decision-making and personalized care planning.
I hold a Master’s degree in ICT and collaborate as a lecturer in several postgraduate emergency medicine programs. I’m also a certified instructor in advanced life support and CPR.
I’m a member of the Safety Committee of the Catalan Hiking Federation (FEEC), where I contribute to promoting safe practices in mountain activities and outdoor environments.
Beyond medicine, I’m passionate about the mountains: ski mountaineering, alpinism, climbing, hiking, running, and yoga are part of my daily life.
If I’m not at the hospital or behind the computer, you’ll likely find me outdoors—accompanied by three tiny climbing companions I carry in my pocket: the #climbingclics. You can follow their adventures on social media!
