Laura Sigman

I was born on an island* which is probably where my love for the sea comes from. I've also loved music and art for as long as I can remember. My first concert was Elvis Presley.**

As a marketing and communications professional I've worked with everyone from school principals to Playmates. I enjoy being inventive and uncovering unique ways to position products, missions, services, and events. I truly believe you can successfully combine strategy and creativity and love that I've had the opportunity to engage both sides of my brain in my professional life.

I'm a passionate supporter of causes important to me. I'd have to say I'm most proud of the work I did with Jersey City's Hudson Cradle, a home for infants with special health and developmental needs who were awaiting foster care. I worked on event planning, development/grants, and PR for nearly seven years during the non-profit's 20-year existence. I recently started volunteering with an amazing organization called Puppy Rescue Mission.

I am also a home design enthusiast who loves to find things at thrift stores, yard sales, flea markets, and trash piles (truth) and pretty them up for my home and the homes of others. Once upon a time I chronicled my adventures at my blog called Shorehouse Chic.
