Laura Valenza

I am a Registered Nurse and Health and Wellness Coach currently living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My interests range from nursing, healthcare, homecare, wellness, teaching, education, advocation.

I whole heartedly believe in the importance of a client being the lead individual in charge of developing a holistic health and wellness plan.

I believe it is the nurses and healthcare teams job to provide patients with knowledge regarding all options for their health and wellness choices so that they are able to make educated decisions around their care plan. This allows for their specific goals and needs surrounding their health and wellness can be met whenever possible.

This knowledge and choice allows patients to feel in control of their care thereby becoming more invested in the care plan they chose.

I am also the owner of Nursing the Six that provides nursing care, education and staffing to individuals and organizations within the GTA.

I am in the process of developing a website, that can be accessed at www.ratern.com, that allows the public and current or former employers and their colleagues to comment on, and provide feedback for, registered nurses of every class and speciality. Nurses are able to claim and manage their profile in regards to the feedback provided but can also connect and chat with other nurses who are enrolled in the site and have claimed their profile as well.
