Laurel Smith

My grandmothers first made me fall in love with baking. They always had a variety of treats for when we would visit. Granny Smith came from a big farm family, known as the chocolate cake lady to friends and neighbours. Granny Farrell still makes the best pies.

Growing up in a family of 6 my mom didn't always have time to do everything, so I volunteered to do the baking. That way I could be the one to lick the beaters!

When I turned 16 I got a job at a grocery store bakery, there I learned to decorate cakes along with many other things. This job gave me the idea to open my own bakery.

A couple of years ago, for my birthday, my siblings gave me a website as my gift. This really got me going into starting my own business. About 6 months later I quit my job and went back to school. And this is where I am now.

My bakery specializes in sugar and gingerbread cookies as well as other goodies.

Incase you were wondering, my background picture is one I took at the beautiful Lake Clear last Thanksgiving, and my profile picture is me at my sister's wedding in July.
