Since she was 3 years old, Laurelena has displayed passion for drawing and painting.

Solely for her striving for expression and creation, she started with oil painting in 1996.

Since she relocated to the Czech Republic in 2010, she has devoted all her time and efforts to painting, feeling deepest urge to express herself by means of canvas and paints, to manifest her Mexican roots and the way she sees the world.

In the beginning, she endeavoured to show the curious European eyes the things from Mexican daily life that she was missing and longed for, like gastronomy, folklore, and reflected her own culture.

Currently, although Mexican culture remains her main source of inspiration, she draws her inspiration from life and her environment, reflecting her experience of living outside Mexico. Her principal instrument is the colour psychology.
