Laurel Raposa
Bellingham
This is a picture of Holly, a poodle from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She represents, for me, a good night’s sleep and a fuller life. My name is Laurel Raposa, and as you might have read in the Bellingham Herald, I’m a disabled senior who lives on SSI and needs help raising $20,000 to train her.
I found Holly through Rick Kaplan, the Director of Canine Angel Service Dogs, a non-profit agency. They’ve agreed to train Holly specifically for me as a seeing eye/diabetic assist dog who can also help me with my balance.
Because of my special health needs I can only get such a dog from a private agency and, after an extensive search, I’ve only found one place in America that cross trains hypoallergenic dogs. That place comes with a two-and-a-half year waiting list. I’ve been searching for more than two years, since my dog Triston died of Lyme disease.
I could really use your help to raise the money so I can start training with Holly and get back home to Bellingham, Washington. Share this with others or, if you’d like to donate, you can do so through the Canine Angel website or [email protected]. Please label your gift ‘Holly’ so that they know where to direct your generosity, which is tax deductible.
Thank you graciously for your time and help with this request,
Laurel Raposa
