This summer two of my best friends and I took our graduation money and flew to Europe. We traveled by plane, boat, train, and car to get where we were going, and never failed to make it an adventure. We traveled through Rome, Venice, Florence, Tuscany, and finally Paris. While there, we lived to the fullest and made everyday count. We walked for miles just to get the perfect view of Rome, and took a slightly sketchy bus ride to experience the vineyards in Tuscany. Italy was something I will never forget, I ate pasta for pretty much every meal, and was ready to eat more. Each city brought its own story and culture, yet were only a train ride away. That is what I loved most about Europe, you could travel an hour and find yourself speaking another language. While Italy was rich in history and the food was delicious, Paris will always have my heart. Paris was a dream come true. The city is vibrant, alive, and spectacular. We watched the Eiffel Tower light up every night, and each time was better than the last. After coming home, I never wanted to stop traveling. I was determined to become fluent in another language, and naturally chose French. I am captivated by the language, culture, and history of France, and hopefully will live there someday. But until then, my 10:10 French class will have to be enough.
