Washington, D.C.
Lauren E. Morris is a proud graduate of the 2011 class of Howard University. As an out and proud senior corps member for City Year Washington, DC, she works as the Design Project Leader on the Civic Engagement team. Her job is to design community service projects through murals, gardening, landscaping, workshops, and various other ways to get the community involved in beautifying and bettering their schools. Aside from her professional life she serves on the Board of Directors for DC Black Pride, as an avid Sunday School teacher, a member of her church choir, and co-director for a local production of the Vagina Monologues. In the coming year she hopes to continue her time with City Year to pair with her attending American University for her dual-degree Masters in Educational Policy and Public Adminstration in the fall.
