Lauren Ancona

I'm currently a Senior Data Scientist for the City of Philadelphia's Office of Innovation and Technology, working to use web analytics and data visualization to improve government services.

I have extensive experience planning and implementing Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, specifically for government, eCommerce sites and SaaS. Over the past year I've developed an interest in civic hacking, open data, and online mapping/GIS.

Educated as a classical musician (percussion and conducting), I was formerly assistant director of the Corzo Center for the Creative Economy at University of the Arts, and Manager of Marketing Technology for Opera Philadelphia.

For fun, I've spent the past year learning to code and design maps, including PhillyPopeMap.com, Blueprintmap.org, and mapping every parking regulation in Philadelphia at laurenancona.com/parking.
