Laurence is the award-winning Founder and CEO of Pavegen Systems - an innovative clean technology company, based in London. His technology instantly converts kinetic energy from footsteps into renewable off-grid electricity. Laurence graduated from Loughborough University with 1st Class Honours in Industrial Design and Technology.

A strong believer of the impact of disruptive technologies, Laurence is a regular speaker at various high-profile events on technology and entrepreneurship, including 4 TED talks around the globe.

Laurence generates significant international media interest with his charismatic nature, entrepreneurial savvy, and technical knowledge. Extensive press coverage includes; BBC, CNN, The Times, Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Wired, and The National Geographic. As noted in the Guardian, Laurence’s work is “shifting the perceptions of renewable energy”.

Other speaking engagements include: UN General Assembly, DMZ 2.0 South Korea alongside Apple founder Steve Wozniak, Innovate UK, Industry Disruptors Game Changers in Greece and the All-Energy Australia Conference as part of Australia’s Sustainability Week.

His experience within public speaking extends to his ability to provide support, advice and constructive criticism on the entrepreneurial potential of other start-up companies – Laurence was a judge at Disrupt Start Up, as well as providing insight and advice at the Energy Harvesting Summit in Shanghai and being a panellist judge for the Shell LiveWIRE Hot 48, 2014. Furthermore, Laurence was selected as one of three delegates to accompany Prime Minister David Cameron to the World Expo in Milan.
