Who am I?

Hi, my name is Laurence and I’m a User Experience Designer & Consultant. I work with small businesses and startups who want to improve the experience their customers have when they interact with their product or service.

Methodology

I do this combining research methods, collaborative ‘Design Thinking’ workshops and usability testing:
LISTEN. SOLVE. CREATE.

Why do I do it?

I strongly believe that taking the time to discover what the end user needs, matching those needs with the goals of the business and encouraging an objective solution design process, can reduce the time and cost of production as well as yielding better results.

Experience

I have been designing for over 10 years and in that time I have have gained experience in a number of design disciplines ranging from Product Design, Graphic Design (specifically magazine publishing) and Web Design. This scope of experience valuable understanding of how business can adopt design across multiple platforms to communicate their message effectively to their customers. I can help businesses navigate the increasingly busier and more confusing digital landscape.

More recently I have been focussed on helping companies understand what their customers need and how they can match these with their own business goals to effectively differentiate themselves from their competition.

In 2010 I was a cofounder of Umi Digital and continue to work with to-date, designing digital solutions for the hospitality industry. In 2014 I launched Pixeldapper and began offering freelance UX consultancy and design services small businesses and startups.
