Lauren Garcia

Lauren is a fun, passionate, driven individual currently attending the Advertising Masters program at the University of Texas at Austin. After spending a whirlwind 4 year adventure in California where she attended Santa Clara University, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communication studies. The Austin native, born in Houston, was finally ready to come home.

In 2008, she started her own non profit organization, called the Mano en Mano foundation geared toward helping underprivileged children in Nicaragua. The foundation helps feed, educate, provide medical assistance and shelter for these individuals and their families. She is passionate about helping others and it shows in her devotion to the foundation. You can see the website at www.manoenmano.org

When she's not stuck inside a coffee shop studying, she loves to travel, learn about and experience new cultures, read, see live music, and of course watch way too many shows on TV. She aspires to be a future copy writer or art director in the field of advertising, and plans to start building her portfolio in fall 2011.
