Lauren Waldron

Lauren is a student at George Mason University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in American Government and a concentration in Political and Persuasive Communications. She currently works as a Legal Assistant for the Law Offices of Lawrence, Smith, and Gardner. This summer, Lauren will be interning at the United States Department of State in the Bureau of Public Affairs. At GMU, Lauren has a passion for encourgaing and supporting women in education and leadership positions as the Founder and Director of Leading Ladies. She has served the most diverse student body in the nation as a past Senator in Student Government. She began her political journey interning on the former Governor of Virginia and U.S. Senator, Tim Kaine's campaign, who won the race for the U.S. Senate. She gained Capitol Hill experience when she interned for her local representative, Congressman Gerald Connolly. Lauren has worked in foreign affairs and diplomatic relations when she interned for the Embassy of Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Ms. Waldron served her hometown community of Roanoke, Virginia in Senator Mark Warner's District Office carrying out casework duties. Furthering her passion as a public servant, Lauren collectively works with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and has personally raised thousands of dollars for Diabetes Awareness while advocating to youth and young adults about the signs, symptoms, and long-term effects of Diabetes.

Upon graduating from GMU, she is pursuing law school to specialize in civil law through discrimination work. Lauren is also planning on working in public affairs. She is experienced in research, policy memos, government relations, international affairs, press releases, public relations, public speaking, and marketing.
