Hello there! It’s sad but true, I am just like millions of other Americans who suffer from anxiety, headaches, and general discomfort. It’s not all bad news though! Over the past few years I have found my true happy places: my yoga practice and my kitchen. The best part of my day is coming home and spending an evening in the kitchen. Ever since I can remember, I have always had some interest in cooking. About 8yrs ago, I spent hours upon hours watching the Food Network absorbing every skill and technique. About 3 years ago, I changed everything I knew about food - I became an all natural, all organic, all vegan. I had to completely relearn how to cook...I had no idea how to cook a lentil nor did I know what nutritional yeast was?! Over a short period of time, I fell inlove with my new lifestyle. In the last couple of months, there have been some changes, most notably - I started to eat seafood. I can’t really explain it because I still do believe that a vegan lifestyle is healthiest for your mind, body, and heart. However, I do know some things right now...

  • I believe in minimally processed foods. If it comes in a pouch or reads “just add water,” you are eating something your human body does not recognize as food.
  • I believe in buying organic and local (whenever possible).
  • I believe in whole fresh foods.
  • I don’t know how long I will continue to dabble in seafood, but I do know that it’s right for me, right now.

I'm no professional, I am simply a girl with a passion to cook well, eat well, and be happy.

When I am not in the kitchen, I can truly find my peace at the Yoga studio around the corner. My yoga is one of the only times during the day where my brain goes blank - other than the occasional - are we done holding this pose thought. I love the feeling of Shivasana, every bit of my body being weighted down by gravity to the earth’s floor. I love seeing my body grow and change into something I never thought possible. Yoga is my happy place.
