A graduate of the civil engineering program at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana, while in school Lauren Plouff balanced her academic responsibilities with professional internships and on-campus involvement. As a student, she held leadership roles in the Delta Xi chapter of the Alpha Omicron Pi fraternity as well as in the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association, the latter of which she led as president in her senior year. Lauren Plouff also served as an engineering track intern with BNSF Railroad, through which she supervised new construction and developed a working familiarity with professional software.

Lauren Plouff has also served as a civil engineering intern with the public works department of Downers Grove, Illinois. There, she composed daily reports and quantity sheets while supervising the building of intersections, storm sewers, and sidewalks.

Ms. Plouff currently applies her pre-professional experience in her first professional role as project engineer for The Walsh Group, a position that she accepted shortly after graduating from college. Responsible for office and on-site work, she has received the Matthew Myles Walsh II (MMWII) Safety Award. She enjoys spending her free time with friends and is an avid volleyball player.
