Presently serving Cone Health Cancer Center as a Hematologist and Oncologist, Dr. Lauretta Odogwu specializes in the research, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of cancer and blood disorders. Dr. Lauretta Odogwu has been involved in the field of hematology and oncology for nearly a decade, having held several positions with leading medical institutions such as the Duke University Medical Center and the Georgetown University Medical Center.

An imminent professional in her field, Lauretta Odogwu, MD, is the author of numerous medical research chapters and articles, and is published in various medical books and publications. Her publications include book chapters such as "Tumor Immunology" in Cancer Medicine 6th Edition, and "Vaccines for the Treatment of Cancer" in Pharmacodynamics and Pharmacokinetics of Anti-Cancer Drugs. Dr. Odogwu is also the recipient of several accolades, including the Critical Care Award for "Resident of the Year" in 1995/1996, and the Winning Research case presentation award for her work in "Trousseau's Syndrome" in 1998.

Lauretta Odogwu, MD, earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin. While a medical student, she received several honors in Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, and Surgery, as well as the Gault prize for her obstetrics/gynecology research project, "In-Vitro-Fertilization." Additionally, she is a Diplomate of the American College Board of Internal Medicine, and is Board Certified in Medical Oncology and Board Certified in Hematology. Furthermore, she is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia, North Carolina, and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Outside of work, Dr. Lauretta Odogwu enjoys spending time with her family. Her hobbies include tennis, traveling, and reading.
