All About Lauren
Richardson. Lauren Ashley Richardson…
Hi there, and welcome to the site. I would offer you a cup of tea, but the boundaries of the internet prevent this. Please feel free to make yourself one, with my kindest regards…
My name is Lauren Richardson, or laurichashson if searching on the internet (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook page etc, all marketed and tagged under that nickname – feel free to explore!) I am based in Newcastle upon Tyne, where I live with my beloved other half (affectionately referred to as Mr A from now on) and my two kittens. I am blissfully happy. And often covered in scratches… (Those are kitten related. Mr A doesn’t have claws… that I’m aware of.)
I am a History and English Literature graduate, a trained patisserie and sous chef, and a college-level language teacher, currently working as a Europe West Liaison Consultant (essentially a translator for the legal offices within Western Europe). Hopefully you kept up with that… And until the moment I wrote this, I hadn’t realised that on paper, I sound accomplished and a bonafide adult. In person, I’m lucky if I know where my keys are.
Why I am blogging…
My main reasons for blogging are two-fold. Firstly, I have a lot to say. This shocks NO-ONE that knows me personally. I read heartily, am happiest when discussing and opining on a huge variety of topics, and find things to discuss even from the minutiae of everyday life. I thought thereby I should have some written record of my thoughts.
Secondly, I have recently taken up photography. I thought I needed something artistic to add to my bow (*ahem*) and I train at a local wrestling school for exercise (it’s incredibly fun, I highly recommend trying at least one session!). At one of our shows, we had no photographer, and missed the opportunity for some amazing promotional shots.
Mr A’s dad is an avid photographer, and had gifted me a really nice camera previously. I thought I’d give it a try, and see if I could get some decent images. Turns out I can. Yay! From then on, I have photographed all shows related to our training center, and have been drafted to do photography for other wrestling schools. This seemed a good website to showcase those images, and to provide reviews and opinions on the shows I’ve photographed!
Reasons to read…
- Occasional photography posts and wrestling news
- New book recommendations and reviews
- Thoughts and opinions on current events
- Recipes (this really is a good thing, I make *excellent* baked goods…)
- I am an absolute idiot 99% of the time; the stories are often worth a read
- I think I’m funny…
- And finally, if the internet ever develops a way to have a cup of tea to be delivered to someone, this website will be one of the first offering it!
Take care, be happy, be well, and be amazing.
Lauren xxx
