Laurie Bundschu
Laurie Bundschu graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Balancing a triple major while working more than 30 hours a week, Bundschu completed her degree with a 3.5 GPA. Her areas of study included human resource management, purchasing and materials management, and production and inventory management. Soon after graduation, Laurie Bundschu joined Caterpillar Inc. as a Materials Planner and Purchasing Analyst. In only one year, she saved the company $50,000 through cost negotiations and created a cycle count program achieving a 20 percent improvement in record accuracy. Her exceptional performance earned Bundschu a promotion to Procurement Analyst. In her new role, Laurie Bundschu headed a strategic research project that led to a higher position as Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Once again utilizing her tactical skills, Bundschu eradicated $1.5 million in inventory, redeployed $1 million in inventory and space, and prevented $900,000 in warranty costs. Eventually earning the title of Supply Chain Materials Manager, Laurie Bundschu continued to succeed on a large stage. Bundschu worked with a team of 30 other professionals to generate breakthrough developments in global supply chain design. In addition to $50 million in component inventory reductions and instituting a corporate benchmark through improving Point of Use availability, Laurie Bundschu was recognized as the Top-Rated Performer in four of five annual performance evaluations. Laurie Bundschu moved on to become the Supply Chain Manager for Eaton Corporation, where she managed sales, inventory, and operations planning. After two years of success, she accepted an offer to become the Director of Demand Management for General Parts, Inc. Laurie Bundschu uses her considerable experience to enhance everyday procedures, supervising corporate-wide forecasting and supply chain processes, implementing inventory strategy, and managing sales and operations planning process development. Outside of the office, Laurie Bundschu enjoys physical fitness, playing outdoors with her children, and spending time with friends and family. Bundschu donates to charities such as the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Goodwill Industries International, and American Diabetes Association. She also volunteers for the United Way Worldwide and Habitat for Humanity International.
