I specialize as a Digital Strategist and Community Builder, combining web sites, mobile-focused content, social media, apps, and innovative thinking to convey the spirit of places and businesses with integrity and a unique voice in the digital space. I have a wide network of contacts to create a wellspring of resources for any project.
I come from a background in production management for community newspapers, and founded Bad Dog Design (now Bigpacific Creative) and Bigpacific.com's Guide to the Sunshine Coast in 1997 - the first entity to market Sunshine Coast tourism and community businesses together online, and the precursor to the Sunshine Coast Bed & Breakfast Cottage Owners Association and Sunshine Coast Tourism.
I am active in the community, volunteering my time and skills with Community Futures Sunshine Coast in the area of Community Economic Development, issues affecting the GLBTQ (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer) community, and in putting on a number of festivals and special events.
I am a single parent to two funny, smart and creative young women. I love people and look for the ways we are alike rather than the ways we are different. Geeky people, artists, First Nations creators, makers, foragers, creators, peacemakers, innovators, people who make me laugh, elders and people who meet others exactly where they are at float my boat.
I value down-time (just look where I live, woudn't you?), getting out and exploring, and making a living wage that allows me to look after my family and give back to the community - and to ensure I'm not a drain on the economy when I retire. Which will likely be when I'm 92.
If you have a project or idea that could put my skills and talents to work, and make the world a better place, let's talk!
