I am a writer and a domestic abuse & child abuse survivor who has made it my mission to raise awareness regarding domestic violence. There continues to be a veil and shroud of silence surrounding this very dark world, and in order to help victims in the best way possible, it is vital that we break the silence. 1 in 4 women are victims of domestic violence and 30% of murdered women are murdered by a current or former intimate partner. This violence is a dangerous and pervasive problem. Please help me in my efforts to break the silence.

Why am I so passionate about this subject? I have both witnessed and been a victim of this world and have friends and family members who have been and some who continue to be in abusive relationships. I know firsthand the emotional scars it leaves. They are scars from wounds so deep they will never completely heal. Violence leaves a devastating wake, completely destroying anyone in its path. It fundamentally changes you. It changes the person you are, the way you think, the way you feel, and even the way you process emotions especially that of love. And it destroys any sense of trust you might have had.
