Lawrence Barreca, Jr. is a 22-year-old sportswriter covering Louisiana State University athletics for The Advocate newspaper in Baton Rouge, La. He is a former baseball, football, women's basketball, men's and women's golf and recruiting beat writer for the The Daily Reveille, the top college daily newspaper in 2012 and 2013 according to the Society of Professional Journalists. He has been involved in the field of sports journalism for five years, stemming from his time writing for small sports blogs as a sophomore in high school. Since then, he has written for numerous organizations, including Fan Huddle, Chat Sports, Tiger Hype and Bleacher Report. He is currently working on receiving a degree in print journalism at LSU.
