Lawrence Stanley
I have over 25 years of experience drafting and negotiating contracts in the music industry, including artist, publishing, licensing and joint venture agreements. Currently I'm working in a paralegal capacity with Gordon Troy at www.webtm.com, where our areas of practice are trademark, copyright, intellectual property, contracts, litigation and related issues (e.g., employment contracts and employee handbooks, website terms and conditions, LLC formation.) Together with Gordon Troy and Robert Fogelnest, I successfully defended a multi-party trademark infringement lawsuit over the use of the word "Pilates," pushing the Pilates mark into the public domain in 2001.
I write for various websites, including webtm.com and http://clearance13-8.com/, a sample clearance and copyright consultation company owned by Hope Carr and for which I prepare and negotiate contracts, perform copyright searches and evaluate copyright ownership.
I am a 1980 graduate of the Cardozo School of Law.
