Lawrence Eng

I am a social scientist specializing in online communities, user research, and otaku studies. I received my PhD in Science and Technology Studies from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2006. My doctoral research examined the ways in which anime otaku and related subcultures engage and appropriate science and technology. Between 2006 and 2011, I worked for Opera Software.
