Lawrence Honig
Lawrence Honig leads a varied and successful executive management career in the retail industry. Recently as senior vice president with Abercrombie & Fitch, Mr. Honig was responsible for new stores, e-commerce, and multinational expansion. His accomplishments include revising and managing the company's internet business, successfully doubling its growth rate within one year. Prior to his contributions at Abercrombie & Fitch, Lawrence Honig spearheaded Centerplate, a food and beverage catering company serving major event centers and sports stadiums. As chairman and chief executive officer, Mr. Honig improved the company's organizational flexibility, transforming Centerplate into an industry leader in food service and quality. He additionally led Centerplate through its transition into a public company. Mr. Honig also served briefly as a managing director at eHatchery, a technology-company incubator started with funding from Bear Stearns Companies, Inc., Cox Broadcasting Corporation, and the Coca-Cola Company. From 1999 through 2000, he held chairman and CEO responsibilities with Edison Brothers Stores, a shoe and apparel retail chain comprising roughly 1,000 mall-based stores. During his time managing Edison Brothers Stores, he fulfilled requests from the board and creditors, returning the company to a profitable position and then liquidating it. Other professional posts Lawrence Honig maintained throughout his career include senior vice president of marketing and sales with Alliant Foodservice. Mr. Honig was also head of systems and management information for Federated Department Stores during its acquisition of Macy's, and prior to that he served as vice chairman of the May Department Store Company. Additionally, he was a partner at the management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he served for seven years.
