Lawrence Pon

Lawrence Pon is Principal with Pon & Associates, a Redwood City, California-based tax services and financial planning firm he established in 1996. Lawrence Pon provides clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area with a full range of CPA and accounting services, as well as focused payroll and business advisory solutions. Consultative offerings include retirement and estate planning, as well as business entity selection and succession planning. Mr. Pon earned his B.S. in Business Administration at the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on accounting and finance. He subsequently completed M.S. studies in Taxation at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. During his time in graduate school, Lawrence Pon held responsibilities as a Tax Supervisor at Coopers & Lybrand. In 1992, he joined American Express Tax and Business Services as Senior Manager, serving in the firm’s San Francisco and Redwood Shores offices. He provided tax and financial planning services to more than 100 financial advisor clients, earning the Client Service Satisfaction award. Mr. Pon benefitted clients by finding significant tax refund opportunities through review of prior year tax returns. In his current position, he continues to emphasize close client relationships, building long-term partnerships that generate significant financial returns. Lawrence Pon maintains professional affiliation with the American Institute of CPAs, the California Society of CPAs, the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the Financial Planning Association, the Peninsula Estate Planning Council, and the Northern California Planned Giving Council. Mr. Pon serves on the Advisor Committees of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and the Asian Pacific Fund. Mr. Pon also serves on the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau.
