Currently serving as Vice President of Utica Taxi Center, Lawrence Pross has a prominent role in overseeing a major New York City taxi fleet. Lawrence Pross joined Utica Taxi Center in 1998. Actively engaged in overseeing a wide array of daily operations with the company, his responsibilities require both management and decision-making skills. In the past 10 years, Lawrence Pross has assisted the company in successfully increasing profitability by as a much as 300%. The company has also succeeded in increasing the fleet’s ownership of New York City Taxi Medallions from 30% to more than 90% since 1998. Currently, Utica Taxi Center maintains 30 employees and an excess of 600 taxi cab drivers. In addition to his career with Utica Taxi Center, Lawrence Pross also serves as President of Universal Payment Systems, LLC. Since 2007, he has developed the company from a start-up operation to an established, profitable business. The sales of Universal Payment Systems currently maintain a growth rate of nearly 500%. In addition to his work, Lawrence Pross has also dedicated his time to supporting numerous charitable causes, including the March of Dimes Foundation, the American National Red Cross, the Saint Labre Indian School, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and various organizations contributing to cancer research. He also donates to The Salvation Army on a monthly basis. In his spare time, Lawrence Pross enjoys running, boxing, and traveling the world. As a recent athletic endeavor, he joined the High Rock Challenge, which takes place in the Greenbelt Trail System on Staten Island.
