Lawrence Todd Maxwell

I’m Lawrence Todd Maxwell, a real estate developer and the President of MX Properties, Inc., based in my hometown of Lakeland, Florida. I’ve spent the past few decades focused on intentional, long-term growth in both residential and commercial real estate. My path wasn’t built overnight—it was shaped by patience, planning, and a belief that meaningful development doesn’t have to be flashy to be impactful.

I earned my degree in Accounting and Economics from Florida Southern College, which gave me the financial foundation to understand risk, value, and sustainable growth. After gaining hands-on experience across different areas of the real estate industry, I launched MX Properties in 2005 with a clear mission: to build projects that last, serve their communities, and reflect integrity at every level.

I don’t chase trends, and I don’t believe in rushing development for short-term gain. I’ve never been interested in being the face of a brand or promoting myself online. I let the work speak for itself, because to me, leadership is about consistency and follow-through—not attention.

Outside of business, I’m passionate about fitness and scale model building. Those quiet, focused activities help me stay sharp and grounded. They’ve taught me the value of detail, patience, and structure—all of which carry over into how I run my business.

Over the years, I’ve seen real estate shift in ways both good and bad. But my commitment remains the same: build with purpose, plan for the future, and leave something solid behind. That’s what I stand for, and that’s how I lead.
