I was born in Antwerp (Belgium) on 19th June 1948. My first steps were in Biarritz, in France. Maybe this is the reason for my "travellitis". Important things always happen abroad. I fell in love in Italy, on the slopes of the Cervino, with Brigitte, still my wife since nearly 40 years (lucky me !); professionally my clients are for 90% foreign companies. Time for a flash-back: studies: Greek-Latin "division" at the Atheneum of Berchem, Antwerp, followed by 5 years of studies at the University of Ghent, which lead to a diploma of Dr. of Laws and of Notarial studies. Additional diplomas such as Maritime Law and Maritime Insurance Law (both University of Antwerp). Lawyer in Antwerp since 1971. Specialised in: Belgian and International Corporate and Commercial (Business) Law: •Debt recovery (Domestic and International) •Establishment companies •Commercial Agreements •Distribution and Agency Contracts •Contract law •Oil and gas, natural resources •Construction / building •Labour and Employment Maritime and Transport law: •General Admiralty, Maritime, Road and Air Transport Law •Ship arrest •Cargo claims •Personal Injury (Road, Ship, Air) •Maritime & Transport Insurance •Personal Injury •Civil & Professional Liability •Medical Malpractice & Liability •Accidents (Road/Ship/Air) •Arrest & Enforcement •Enforcement of Foreign judgments •Wills, Inheritance & Probate •Litigation •Proceedings European Court.

I have been a President of the Conference of the Antwerp Bar, a member of its Council, for some 10 years a Judge at the Commercial Court, etc. I wrote many articles, most of them published in Le Journal des Tribunaux, the leading Belgian legal weekly, and am the author of the Belgian chapter of "Enforcement of Foreign Judgements", published by Kluwer Int'l New York and of the same in "nternational Succession", edited by the Oxford University Press, UK. Leisure is travelling, reading, discovering, food, etc.
