Jade Barker

Jade has resided in the United States for almost 16 years. She was born in South Africa and ran around under the hot African sun until one day, she washed ashore on the east coast of Canada. She spent two life changing years in Toronto before moving to Portland, Oregon where she now cohabits with her Norse-God of a boyfriend and their humane-Falcor-dog Oscar. She enjoys feeding stray cats, hyphenating words, rescuing slugs and owns more than 20 unfinished journals.

A dancer since age 3, Jade can choreograph an entire dance routine in her head. She compares libraries to hospitals and books to medicine. Her cupboards are filled with tinctures, earl grey tea, loose gems and dark chocolate. Her favorite sound is her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel snoring at the bottom of her bed. The South African dreamer aspires to become a published author, a mother but most importantly herself.
